 | In Memory of Mark D. Arlen 1959 — 2025
Mark Arlen passed away on December 13, 2025, after 43 years of dedicated service to his clients, his team, and his profession. He lived a life defined by purpose, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to helping others. Mark began his career in 1982 at Lincoln Financial Advisors. He grew up watching his father, a psychiatrist, help people navigate some of the most emotionally difficult moments of their lives. That influence never left him. Mark carried that same instinct into financial planning, a field where the numbers matter but the people matter more. Above all else, Mark was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a loyal brother. Those roles defined him far more than any professional title ever could. Mark had the courage to bet on himself. In 2004, he relocated his family from Cleveland to Denver, built a thriving practice from the ground up in Denver while maintaining and growing the Cleveland business, and never looked back. He had not worked a Friday since making that move, a deliberate choice to protect time with his family, who were always first. He traveled nearly every quarter, visiting his children or crossing off destinations he had always wanted to see. Mark's impact extended well beyond his clients and colleagues. He had a gift for recognizing potential in people and investing in them long before they had proven themselves. In 2010, when I was a 20-year-old intern at the University of Denver who had just realized accounting was not the right path for a career, Mark took a chance on me. He did not have to. He did anyway. We became business partners in 2016 and what followed was one of the most meaningful chapters of my professional life. Over time our working relationship became something genuinely hard to describe. We could finish each other's sentences. In a client meeting, I always knew where he was going and he always knew where I was going. Mark paved his own path. He built something lasting. We carry it forward for him, for Patty and his children, and for every client whose life he touched. 💼 | A Pioneer in our Industry Mark began his career in 1982 at Lincoln Financial Advisors. He mentored countless advisors and team members, always willing to share his wisdom, challenge us to grow, and celebrate our successes. His influence will live on in all of us. | ❤️ | A Devoted Husband, Father & Friend Above all, Mark was a family man. He and Patty were married for more than 39 years and built a life rooted in love, faith, and adventure. He was a proud father to Zak, Logan, Heather, and Chandler and a constant source of love and support. He also adored his dogs, who were family in every way that mattered. | ✈️ | A Life of Passion Mark loved to fly. He earned his pilot's license after receiving a demo flying lesson as a gift on his 40th birthday and never stopped. Tennis was another lifelong passion, one passed down to him by his mother. He also loved sports memorabilia collecting and any adventure that came his way. | ⭐ | A Legacy that Endures Mark's legacy is not just in the clients he served, but in the lives he touched and the example he set every day. His integrity, generosity, and genuine care for others will continue to guide us. |
